Regular readers of our little Web sites know we are all over pet rescue and adoption efforts.
A couple of friends in pet watch recently sent word about two fundraisers to benefit spay-neuter and educational programs, rescue efforts, medical care when necessary, and, ultimately, adoption or reunion placements — all of which are most worthy and noble causes.
First up, chronologically speaking, comes Companion Animal Network, which will have a wine and hors d' oeuvres gathering from 6-8 p.m. May 20 at Times Ten Two, that's the meeting room next to the primary Times Ten Cellars location.
A donation of $25 gets a free glass of wine, some appetizers, entertainment, and a shot at a silent auction.
Next, Angelo's Italian Grill serves up a percentage of its daily sales that occur between 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. May 22 during lunch and dinner hours to Animal Allies of Texas. A lunch buffet takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m..
Both organizations work as nonprofit groups, and neither operates a shelter. Volunteers open their homes as foster facilities to needy pets leading up to adoptions.
