We're about one-quarter of the way through May [sigh], and this month's For the Love of the Lake Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up takes place this weekend, May 10 to be precise. Yes, again, already.

For anyone unfamiliar with the process, volunteers meet at the FTLOTL office between 8-9 a.m., munch on some breakfast pastries and such, wash it down will juice and coffee, pack up trash and recycle bags, and gloves, and head over to the banks of White Rock Lake to clean up the garbage inconsiderate dolts, who weren't raised right by their parents, leave behind.

Oh, and people who participate in the clean-up efforts two consecutive months receive a Second Saturday T-shirt, which makes a nice badge of honor.
