Local Photographer Gaining Exposure

The community is home to an up-and-coming photographic artist, and area residents better snatch up some of her work before the world finds out about her.

Kathleen Wilke Feroze is one of the five finalists in this year's Unscene Dallas competition that will open June 11. The UnScene is a mobile gallery tour, traveling among the W Hotel chain, aimed to discover and expose emerging photographers city by city. Ten of Kathleen's "Lady of the Lake" series will be on display.

"[The show] is really for artists who have never had a show in a gallery before. Some of the work will be auctioned off to raise money for Booker T. Washington High School. The winner gets their own show at the AfterImage Gallery. Plus hotel art buyers will be there to buy for boutique hotels," Wilke Feroze said.

"The winner will also get all their photos shown on the Victory Plaza screens for two weeks," she said.

Now there's some exposure.
