We received an e-mail last night from someone in Hollywood Heights-Santa Monica who rescued a puppy from that neighborhood.

This dog, a male border collie-Labrador mix, is about 9 months old with light-brown and white markings.

The rescuer arranged for him to receive his vaccinations and be neutered.

The puppy must have been trained to some degree because he responds to "sit" and "down" commands. The rescuer said he's obedient and friendly toward humans and other dogs.
