I was meandering along Gaston Avenue this morning about 9:30 and spotted something that prompted a double take.
The parking lot lights at the long-abandoned Trinity Lutheran Church, at Gaston and Loving Avenue, were turned on, which seems pretty stupid and downright wasteful, particularly in this age of jacked up energy rates and concerns about the electric grid. Plus, you have the city making a major push to "go green" in all of its municipal doings.
Who knows where the off switch for those lights might be located?
