Portrait of the artist at work
Choosing the right photographer to capture lifetime images of a family's precious darling at his or her cutest can be quite the challenge. So many photographers, so many options. Laura Legg, an East Dallas resident, is relatively new to the game but this photographer is already making a name for herself.
"I really just got into this last year. My father has always been creative. He is a sculptor, photographer, and an inventor. I was an art consultant before this," Legg said.
Though she also shoots interiors for commercial use, Legg said her passion is creating children's portraits. Her secret for dealing with kids?
"I think just having the patience to wait it out if they are not responsive to the camera," she said. "I had a session at Bethel Lutheran Preschool taking pictures of kids who were from 6 weeks to 6 years old. We shot outside and there was only one kid that didn't like it. I just went to him and played until he felt comfortable. The picture was so good it is on my Web site. I learned you have to get into their world other than getting them into poses."
