Lone Star Comics played host to celebrated comic writers Mark Millar and Tony Harris as they came through the neighborhood to promote their new book, "War Heroes."
The book signing event, part of an eight-city "Tour of Duty" throughout the United States and the U.K., took place at the store's flagship location in Dallas, at Hillside Village.
Considered on of the genre's most sought-after comics writer, Mark Millar, of Glasgow, Scotland, is the creator and writer of the graphic novel comic, "Wanted." His book also was made into the feature film of the same name released earlier this summer, starring Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.
Millar was the executive producer of the film version.
Other comics written by Millar include Marvel's "Ultimates," "Fantastic Four," "Civil War," and DC's "Superman: Red Son."
Tony Harris, a comics artist from Macon, Ga., is the proprietor of Jolly Roger Studios, an illustration house. His work can be viewed on the comic, "Ex Machina," "Spider-Man: With Great Power," and in the "Starman" omnibus collection.
