At the request of the Lakewood officers this message is being sent out on Sunday, August 27. There was a residential burglary on the 6600 block of Lakeshore Friday around 5:30 pm.
Also, the officers confiscated a stolen trailer being used by a contractor on Lake Circle.
Make sure you are setting your alarm when you leave your property. Be watchful of your neighbors property if you are at home. If you see a suspicious person or see someone acting in a suspicious manner call 911 immediately.
Solicitors have been seen in the neighborhood after dark. Do not open your door to a stranger. Call 911 and report a suspicious person at your door. It is believed these individuals may be surveying the neighborhood.
A resident at the 6400 block of Mercedes reported a woman stealing mail from mailboxes at the 6400 block of Mercedes, and the 6400 block of Sunnyland. The police have been notified. After a chase, the resident found loose pieces of mail strewn along various lawns as the culprit threw out letters, etc. from her car window. The recovered pieces of mail have been sent back to the US Postal Service for re-delivery.
Last night, some time, between 11 pm and 5 am vandals smashed car windows and slashed tires. The officers believe this is gang related. A similar occurence happened in Lake Highlands several weeks ago. Please make every effort to park your car in a garage or driveway. If you see suspicious persons or vehicles, call 911 immediately. If you are a victim of a crime call 911 and file a report.
